Hyderabad is all set to get another world-class movie destination. The iconic Mythri Ranga Theatre in Jeedimetla is currently undergoing a complete makeover and is expected to reopen in October 2026 as a Dolby Cinema.

Hyderabad already houses a Dolby Cinema screen at Allu Cinemas, Kokapet, known for its large screen and premium experience. With the addition of Mythri Ranga, the city is set to become the only city in India with two Dolby Cinema screens, further strengthening its reputation as the country’s top destination for premium movie experiences.

If everything goes as planned, Mythri Ranga will create history by becoming the world’s first single-screen theatre to feature the Dolby Cinema format. The renovation is said to be one of the biggest upgrades ever undertaken for a single-screen theatre in India.

The renovated auditorium is expected to feature a Dual Christie Dolby Vision 4K Laser projection system, Dolby Atmos immersive sound, Dolby 3D, a large flat screen, premium seating, and completely redesigned interiors. According to reports, the screen is expected to measure around 70 feet wide and 29.2 feet high, promising a spectacular movie-watching experience.

The much-awaited reopening is currently expected in October 2026. However, the theatre management is yet to officially announce the launch date and confirm the final technical specifications.

With two Dolby Cinema screens, Allu Cinemas and the upcoming Mythri Ranga Dolby Cinema, Hyderabad is poised to offer one of the finest premium cinema experiences in the country. Movie lovers can look forward to one of the city’s biggest theatre upgrades later this year.
